Title: Holding a key on local computer won't make the key held down on remote computer

The title pretty much says it all. I've searched this forum and found posts as old as 2014. Holding a key on local computer won't make the key held down on remote computer. On my remote linux, I need to operate a GUI that requires me to hold a key down. Instead of holding a key, the key is repeated. Is there any solution to this problem?
