Unattended TeamViewer

Using the latest version of TeamViewer on iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6, accessing using Windows 7

I’m trying to reduce the surface of my home network to the Internet.  Ideally I want to SSH into my iMac, load TeamViewer, do some stuff, then reboot (or unload TeamViewer)

When I ssh into my iMac and run:

--- End code ---
I get:

--- Code: --- LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/TeamViewer.app
--- End code ---
I’m assuming this is security related, but if I run:

--- Code: ---sudo open /Applications/TeamViewer.app/
--- End code ---
TeamViewer loads, but I cannot connect to it via the TeamViewer client on Windows 7 – it tells me my password is invalid.

If I log onto the iMac, TeamViewer loads just fine (it’s one of my Login Items) and I can connect remotely using the TeamViewer client.

I notice that ps –ax gives the following result once I’ve logged onto the iMac:

--- Code: ---/Applications/TeamViewer.app/Contents/MacOS/TeamViewer -psn_0_77843
--- End code ---

The “-psn_0_77843” changes every time so I’m assuming (!) this changes with every login session.

Is there a way to get my iMac to operate in this fashion?

Thanks for your interest.

I want to be able to load TeamViewer from the terminal (via SSH - I could be located anywhere in the world).

Then load TeamViewer client (or use the TeamViewer website) to control my iMac.

Then unload TeamViewer.

At the moment I must be logged into my iMac for TeamViewer to be loaded.

Is this enough information?

sorry for the late reply.
Is there an user logged in on your Mac you want to connect to?
If you are using TeamViewer 6 for Mac (incoming and outgoing connections are possible) an user have to be logged in. Please use TeamViewer Host for Mac (only incoming connections are possible), you do not need to be logged in.
Why you are using ssh for connection and do not only use TeamViewer?

Hi Inga,

You are correct - I was using TeamViewer for Mac, not TeamViewer Host for Mac.

My intention was to only run TeamViewer when required from SSH and not have the Host running all the time.  If I am unable to do this easily, then that's fine.
