Verification of your TeamViewer version failed.
« on: June 05, 2013, 02:58:02 PM »
I have used TeamViewer in the past with no issues, in fact it worked as recently as last week.  Nothing has been changed on the machine since it last functioned properly.

When trying to run the program I receive an error stating "Verification of your TeamViewer version failed! TeamViewer will quit for security reasons.  Please reinstall TV."

I have tried to uninstall, delete the reg keys in both hkey local and user, deleted the roaming app data folder, restarted, etc, etc...still cannot reinstall the program.

I am installing as an admin, have tried to re-download the install package, nothing has worked.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the link, I copied my post directly to a support ticket two days ago.  Is it common to wait this long for a response?

yes, unfortunately.  Support for the free version is sometimes slow...hence the creation of this board.  Ultimatley, the goal is to have a community of users that are experienced enough to help each other.
Did you get an email acknowledging the support request?

Yeah, the auto-reply was sent immediately.

I'm surprised to not find any other users with the same issue...I must just be lucky.

So while waiting for help, I wiped every trace of TV I could find from my machine.

The support response provided a link to a new version (I assumed my download from the front page was current as well) and that install worked just fine.

Who knows...maybe I had an outdated install package, maybe it was something I wiped from the reg.

Glad it's working and thanks!

For Windows Systems its really easy to come off this problem.

Just go in the programmpath of teamviewer

as example c:\program files\teamviewer\

- right click on teamviewer.exe
- registercard "digital signatures"
- mark the signature and click on "details"
- click on "show certficates"
- click on "install certificate"

The Problem could resolved on many servers by my self.

thx to dhh for this solution

Having the same problem on LinuxMint 15, submitted a ticket, but found solution before them (still waiting for techhelp).
how do I fix this error:
1. Uninstall current (8.0.20931) version of TeamViewer.
2. Install an older one (8.16675) - starts and works fine.
3. Install the last from Teamviewer.com - 8.0.20931.
  Ta-daaa! No errors, no verification fails!

If anybody need an old 8.0.16675 (deb) - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5Fx7IXIcZnqZklOQ0VydG1fUGc/edit?usp=sharing

PLUME!!! Thanks a lot! This helped me solve "No connection" problem on Linux Mint 17.2 x64.
 :)

Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get remove teamviewer
sudo apt-get purge teamviewer
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get update
then reinstall latest downloadable .deb from teamviewer website

So i logged a support call as we use the software commercially and have a license. But what a useless support.. took them 12 days to tell me to remove everything related to teamviewer.. with no luck.

Anyhow, i found the issue myself (after tried all the options in this thread). I am on ubuntu 16.04, all patched and had used TV v10 before upgrading the license. Seems something wasn't removed even when using apt with remove/purge/autoremove like solnystok said. There was still a service active;
$ systemctl status teamviewerd.service
 teamviewerd.service
   Loaded: not-found (Reason: No such file or directory)
   Active: active (running) since di 2016-08-23 10:27:31 CEST; 9h ago
 Main PID: 9228 (teamviewerd)
   CGroup: /system.slice/teamviewerd.service
           ??9228 /opt/teamviewer/tv_bin/teamviewerd -d

The solution is;
Code: [Select]
systemctl stop teamviewerd.servicecheck if it's off;
systemctl status teamviewerd.service

Then reinstall v11. Seems removing teamviewer doesn't do a proper cleanup. this problem is reproducable as we had it on 2 different systems and a few who hadn't had the problem (because they installed v11 directly). I used to be a big fan of teamviewer, but kind of support has diminished my respect. It's also really expensive for a commercial license and firewalling it based on url/ip seems to be impossible too.
