Partner list security

I have only just started using TeamViewer and found logging in to different PCs using IDs a little cumbersome so I set up Partner List, but I am very worried about its security since in setting it up we have to supply the IDs AND passwords to the TeamViewer organisation. What is there to stop them from using this info to spy (or worse) on everyone's computer?
