Mac OSX - Black Square behind cursor on a remote machine

Hi, I am seeing a black square behind my cursor on a remote machine when using my MacBook Pro connecting to Win 7 machine.  Has anyone else seen this issue?  Let me know.

It is not happening if I use my other Win XP laptop to connect.  Only seems to be related to mac client.

It might be worth altering the colour depth on the client machine—maybe you already tried that?
