Title: The Remote Desktop Doesn't Appear!! Thanks for the forum!!
Post by: jamzinkorea on September 18, 2010, 09:08:12 PM
HI there,

Great idea to make a forum for this software since they're no support for non paying users.

Anyways, I installed this software on 3 computers and they all worked great the first day.  We have two desktop Windows 7 64 computers and one is on XP sp3.

Suddenly on the second day, when I requested the remote desktop (I previously set up the permanent password), it doesn't work.  Team viewer says the connections are established but the other desktops don't pop up?  So I wonder what's going on.  Any tips?  It's pretty irritating.  It seems to work 1 out of 10 times now.

So I can't really help my family back in Canada any more.

thanks for any advice!

Ive had this happen once as well, kind of odd, not sure how i resolved it or if it just did it on its own.
Make sure all the systems are using the latest release of teamviewer. help/check for latest version) if there is an update it will prompt you to update.
It will retain all the settings in the current version.
If they are current, just reinstall teamviewer.

log out of your partner list completely shut down and reboot all the systems ( call your family  to have them to theirs)
Let us know if that helps and or if you discover another solution.

Hopefully these forums will pick up speed

Well after conducting lots of tests, it seems that the other computer sometimes needs to reboot for it to work normally again.  I rebooted on both computers in Canada..or my wife and kids did and it seemed to work again.

Perhaps that's it!!

thanks,

I often have the same problem when trying to connect from Win7 x86 Sp1 to a Mac OSX 10.6.8 host machine.
Connection establishes successfully but the remote desktop does never appear.
Only a reboot helps.

Here's an excerpt of the host logfile:
