Title: Are Chat instant messages sent outside of a session encrypted?
Post by: ry_c on May 29, 2012, 09:48:35 PM
I was wondering if chat messages sent to other computers outside of a meeting/remote control session are encrypted.  To avoid confusion, I'm referring to the messages you send by going to "computers and contacts" and then right clicking on one of your contacts/computers and hitting "send message".

I would like to send meeting IDs/Passwords over this chat service but need to ensure that nobody can intercept/use them to eavesdrop on meetings.  So does anyone know if the instant message chat is encrypted?

Thanks!

I sent a free ticket to their tech support and the answer is yes, the instant chat messages are encrypted.

So it is safe to send meeting numbers/passwords to others through their chat function.
