Title: Teamviewer 7: Cannot find teamviewer.exe
Post by: SkyJP on October 17, 2012, 10:18:45 AM
I ran Teamviewer 7 and it came up with the error:

Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files(x86)\TeamViewer\Version7\TeamViewer.exe'

The files are clearly there but they can't be opened. The problem is similar to: http://teamviewerforums.com/index.php?topic=1474.0

I uninstalled TeamViewer 7 with RevoUninstaller, installer V6, uninstalled V6 then install V7 but it still isn't working.

When you right click on the shortcut and click open file location the location shows up as if it was working.

Any ideas?

I had this issue a while back i don't recall the resolution BUT i seem to recall that i deleted the icon on the desktop, navigated to the source folder of TV and looked for the .exe right clicked and "send to" desktop/create shortcut to send a new icon to the desktop.

make sure that the string has double quotes at each end, not single quotes as you post, and a space between 'Files' and '(x86)',ie

"C:\Program Files (x86)\TeamViewer\Version7\TeamViewer.exe"

to clarify what matt said:
Right click on the teamviewer icon on the desktop, choose properties.
in the box that appears, next to where it says "Target" and/or "Start in" make sure the string the string is enclosed in a  " on either side NOT a '
