I am trying to have ONE computer using VPN into another network and can't do it so far. I assumed with a mature product like TV with built-in VPN functionality, this would be a breeze. Unfortuately, this has not the case. Even the TV manual only contains 2 pages of VPN instructions which are virtually useless.
I have used the unattended remote aspect without any issues and can fully access any PC on my home network. Now I am working with the other aspects of this fantastic program. Thus, establishing a VPN connection was my first attempt at moving beyond simply remoting in which does not afford some of the functionality that I require.
1) All updated Win7 Pro PC's with the latest version of TV installed.
2) I have installed the VPN drivers on both PC's. I only get to " Your connected" but when I attempt to ping, it always times out.
3) End of story. :(
I have been a tech for 20 years but a rookie with TV and this has been very frustrating to search this forum, the help files, and even the Net and I cannot find a detailed tutorial or instructions for properly setting up & configuring VPN. Would someone be so kind as to provide this info or any suggested links so I can resolve this? I have no problem putting in work required to learn this. I just did not expect that detailed solutions & suggestions are seemingly so hard to find on this issue.
I will eventually master every aspect of TV and assist this community as much as I can going forward because that is how a community should work. There are so many unanswered or undetailed responses, it has been extremely frustrating trying to set up or resolve this VPN issue. It is very likely I am missing something simple but I just don't know.
Repectfully,

This forum is , unfortunately a fairly young community. This board was created by a TeamViewer user because frustration such as yours lead them to finding a better solution for an issue.
Occasionally we get a response from a TeamViewer representative, but mostly, its user based help.
Your participation will be greatly appreciated if you decide to participate and help others.
in the mean time, I would suggest that you attempt to contact teamviewer through their contact page and submit a ticket to them:
You can navigate to this page and submit a ticket
http://www.teamviewer.com/en/help/createticket.aspx
and perhaps post their response/resolution to any issue you have.

It is very nice of you to respond and send me in the correct direction. Now I also understand why the community is not very visible or active. We will have to change that! Thank you very much for the response and information!

No problem, hopefully as more members join, the help base will increase as well !
I wish we could convince Teamviewer to have a more active presence here.

I am shocked they did not have their own forum. How do they sell TV or continue to build a customer base without a community THEY SUPPORT?! Help tickets? I think was done purposely to drive people insane enough to buy a license with support or make you work like hell to accomplish anything magical without hours & hours of trial and error.
It is really sad. Logmein has not only a more active community but complete and detailed, company issued manuals, FAQ's, etc. for ALL of their FREE apps. TBH, since trying to use VPN via TV has been such a pain in the ass, I just setup Hamachi from Logmein. A 50 page, detailed manual is also available. I kid you not; I set up a number of VPN's in less than an hour using Hamachi and THE COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS! Within a few hours since I first posted here, I have established several Mesh networks and now am moving to Hub & Spoke, followed by Gateway networks.
Get it together TV!!!!!!!!!!! >:(
