Title: Teamviewer Host won't accept LAN connections
Post by: Hildebrandt on March 08, 2013, 07:08:13 AM
I've been using TV for years - never had a problem until now...

Situation:
Fresh install Windows 7 64 bit SP1 fully updated.
Installed latest version of Teamviewer Host - entered settings, and set it to accept LAN connections...
Despite this i cannot connect to the computer using LAN IP, using the 9-digit number i can connect over internet...

Before this install i had the same setup (except kingston SSD exchanged with Intel SSD) and had no problems using Teamviewer......

Suggestions????

Thx...

Well Hildebrandt, I've been having the exact same issue.  My XP box was uneffected, but my Win7 SP3 (32-bit) box refused all LAN connection attempts.

But , I've solved my issue.  The TV8 bug is with the default firewall configuration.   What I call a bug may be what they call a security enhancement?  NIMHO, at least.

Open the Win7 firewall --> Advanced settings --> Inbound Rules
Scroll down and you'll find 4 TeamViewer references:
2 for Teamviewer Remote Control Application, and
2 for Teamviewer Remote Control Service

The problem is that all 4 references are set to "Public" only.
Double-click one of each reference, select the Advanced tab, and enable the "Domain" and "Private" checkboxes.

Voila
