I had this problem with Windows XP and now installed Windows Server 2008 Standard and still have the same problem. I connect to Windows Server 2008 on my Lan at home.
I can connect to after I restart the machine and some time after that. But a few hours later I can not connect anymore.
A red exclamation mark appears on team viewer icon. A restart of the TeamViewer Service fixes this and I can connect again. (but this is not a solution if I am not at home)
So it seems that the problem is that TV looses connection to the TV server. I checked the firewall and it all seems ok.
I reinstalled TV and that did not help.
Does anyone have any idea what else I can check?

yes, I set up unattended access and I can connect sometimes.
But a few hours after a system restart I can connect anymore.
Seems that the TV service and the app loose connection to the server. But the firewall is open for TV. If I manually restart the TV service it works again.
