Title: DNS Lookup Failure
Post by: zl3ix on October 12, 2013, 03:00:56 PM
Hi, the 3G ISP I am using seems to be having problems with its DNS lookup service.  Can I manually enter an IP address for Teamviewer, to get my remote desktop working again?  If so, which IP address should I use - perhaps the one for ping3.teamviewer.com?  (That's the one that my remote host is looking for, as seen on Wireshark)

Not that I am aware of.

Why don't you use another DNS. Just google some in your local area, by searching for 'xxxxxxxx DNS settings' where xxxxxxxx is the name of a local ISP

I've not seen an ISP yet that forces you to use their DNS (expect to access some 'provided' services).

Unfortunately this seems to be a pretty widespread problem around here.  Caused by a DOS attack according to ISP.
