I'm a newcomer to TeamViewer and I'm using it to troubleshoot my parents' computer. Please can you tell me if I can use either the random password or the personal password from my parents' computer to access it? Is there a difference? Does the personal password only work when you're signed in to a TeamViewer account? So far I was successful with the random password but not with their personal password. It would be nice to use the personal password because the random password changes each time the computer is started.
Thanks a lot!

you want to do this on the computer you want to control:
Open TeamViewer and navigate to Extras > Options.
Now, go to the Security tab and change the password under ‘Permanent Password for Unattended access’.
enter the password twice.
on your end all you need then is the teamviewer ID and the passowrd you set up as noted above.
IF you want on your computer Teamviewer, click on computer and contacts in the lower right of the teamviewer screen and add their system( you wil have to create an account for your self to log in).
You can add their computer and password and it will appear in the list when it is signed on. just double click and it will log in.
Let us know how it works or if you have any issue.

Thank you very much. It's called 'personal password' in the program, rather than 'permanent password', although 'permanent password' is a better description!
It looks like you can have more than one personal password simultaneously ("Enter it or a new one in the password field to store it in your list"). Please could you tell me what the reason would be for having several passwords?

not sure why they allow for that other than you can have a backup if you forget one i suppose.

Thanks.
Normally (in other systems), if you have forgotten a password, then you replace it, rather than add to an ever-increasing list of forgotten passwords!

I think there is only ONE personal password that is replaced by updating this field.
