Hi Everyone,
If at home I have a 4k TV, I'd like to remote into my work computer. Then when I'm at home I'd like my work to display in 3840x2160 on my 4k TV.
I read in forums that if I physically disconnect my work monitor, then it will take on my TV's resolution... however I have 4 monitors connected at work and I don't want to disconnect/reconnect them everyday.
I'm assuming there is a way to do this through software. I tried remoting in through the 4k TV, then going into NIVIDIA's graphics options and setting a custom resolution but then it says: "Custom resolution 3840x2160 at 60Hz (32-bit) is not supported by your display". So it's not recognizing my home TV's resolutions.
My work computer has a gtx650 so I don't think there should be a problem.
Regards,
Alex

Also I noticed when I was experimenting with my laptops, I could convince a laptop with lower resolution to use my local monitor's resolution.
Windows' "screen resolution" window gave a display option called "Display device on: VGA"... but I think this is a laptop thing.

I think what needs to happen is to get my remote computer to recognize my local monitor (i.e. the 4k TV) as an available monitor

Why don't you just RDP instead, that should support your monitor...
