Title: No password set - but TV is still begging for it
Post by: SVDPE on March 19, 2014, 05:16:47 AM
On the Win 7 host, I've set up for unattended access from an Admin level account.  In the unattended access dialog, I chose not to have a password.  I simply wanted to use Windows authentication.  So I left the password/confirmation blank.  I close out - TV is still running down in the systray.  Go back to the log in screen.

Then, on the client, when I go to attach myself to the host, TV responds with "Type the password shown on the partner screen".  Of course, if I was there, I'd know it but I'm not.

So, I've done something wrong or have hit the wrong setting.  How do I recover from this?

The saved password is an alternative to the auto generated one

You can't have a blank password

Did you set windows authentication? If so try your usual windows password (May not work if you left the machine without anyone logged on)

You know, Matt...

If I had taken the time to read the text in the error box, I'd have easily learned what you just told me.
Sorry I wasted everyone's time with this.  You -do- need to indicate a password, even though the installer would let you leave the fields blank.

My mistake.
