Title: Remote Data Transfer to Local Flash Drive
Post by: tvuser4lyfe on April 09, 2014, 04:40:49 AM
This may stretch the current levels of technology but - if you dream it, you can build it...

Please bare with me as I give you a bit of back story. I remote into several of my home computers from work. From time to time, I have the urge to switch up my music on my phone. My music collection is approximately 75GB and is stored on my home server. If I VPN into the home server (or try to do a file transfer) and attempt to copy my music collection to my work computer, the total transfer time is well over 5 days.

Now for my question. I can connect my phone to my computer as a drive. Does Teamviewer have a method of allowing me to remote into my home server and transfer music from my home server to my phone while my phone is connected to my work computer? I am not looking to VPN or do a file transfer as both of those methods are lengthy. If possible, I want Teamviewer to treat my phone as a locally plugged in device on my remote computer. Is this even possible? Am I clear in my explanation or should I try again?

If you phone is connected to your work computer, surely this has to be a remote transfer to/from your home computer

If you phone was actually at home, then this may work.
