I recently bought a new Windows 8 laptop and I am trying to connect to it from a Windows 7 computer. The Teamviewer monitor driver has been installed on both machines. “Show Black Screen” and “Disable User Input” are both checked, but screen is still showing on the Windows 8 machine. There is no screen saver set up on the Win 8 computer and the teamviewer settings disable the Wallpaper when connected. I even checked and changed the power settings - all to no avail. I get no message or error, it just doesn't go black. I had no trouble with this on Windows 7; just since I upgraded to Windows 8. Anyone else having this problem or have any idea how to resolve it?

Try reinstalling the black screen 'driver'

I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled the team viewer monitor driver on both machines, reinstalled team viewer, installed an old version of team viewer - I have tried everything. Still no luck.

I found somewhat of a workaround for this issue. I went to control panel, display and change display settings. I chose, "Project to a second screen" and then "second screen only". So now I am able to control the laptop from the desktop while hiding the laptop screen. Obviously I will need to change this setting back and forth every time I connect to and from Teamviewer but at least I am able to hide the screen for now. Sure hope someone can come up with a resolution for this problem.

I realize this is a late reply, but thought I would add it for others' use.
I am using Windows 10 and the "Show Black Screen" setting works inconsistently - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, even though checked. Building on the workaround suggested by kelly_t0, and credit to http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4608-display-switch-shortcut-create-windows-10-a.html, I created two shortcuts:
View Second Screen Only - C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /external
View Duplicate Screens - C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /clone
For the Duplicate Screens to work, be sure the TeamViewer "Show Black Screen" is NOT checked, in case it works.
Of course, a solution is always better than a workaround, so I echo kelly_t0 hoping someone can actually resolve the problem.
