Title: Does China block TeamViewer?
Post by: mikem on December 10, 2014, 02:03:24 PM
Scenario: User travels with his laptop between Hainan, China and Honolulu, HI. He's made several round trips from Honolulu to China and TeamViewer was working fine from both locations until around mid-November 2014. That's when he started getting the "A connection could not be established. Partner could not be contacted at the given network address" messages while in China.

Since then, while in Honolulu, user has no trouble connecting from his laptop to two different computers in Honolulu.

Once the user travels to China, he is unable able to connect with his laptop. Nothing has changed on his laptop or computers he's trying to access. While in China he tried connecting from his home and an office network. No dice.

Does anyone know why this might be the case? Has China started blocking TeamViewer traffic?

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if they were blocking TV traffic
