Suddenly my PC started taking a long time to boot. I have windows 8.1 on an SSD so it's usually pretty fast, like 20 or 30s from pressing the button to desktop. Now it gets to the desktop making good time, but it just hangs there, with most of the shortcuts without icons (as in white files), not opening the programs that are set to start with windows and it won't let me open the task manager. I can open other programs with no lag at all, like firefox. After a couple minutes it snaps out of it and the startup resumes, the taskmanager finally opens and the icons load.
The event viewer had this error about team viewer service hangin at startup:
The TeamViewer 10 service hung on starting.
I tried disabling TeamViewer and the computer effectively starts up normally.
I tried reinstalling TeamViewer and the problem persisted.
I tried setting the Teamviewer 10 service to Automatic (delayed start) and Teamviewer woudn't autostart.
I've installed Teamviewer 9 and I boot up fast with TW working.
Does anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this and how to fix it?

At least two of my computers are doing this also. It took me awhile to figure out what was hanging them at startup. It is teamviewer and started sometime in the last few days.
Windows 7 64 & 32 bit. I came to this forum looking for an answer and don't see one. Maybe the only fix right now is to downgrade to another version?

Hi,
I had the same issues.
It's the latest version that's bugged. TeamViewer 10.0.40642
Use TeamViewer 10.0.39052

I've tried a full format and reinstallation of TV 10, and my PC freeze after startup (20 seconds).
Windows 7 x64 family premium, SSD, all windows updates.
Trying the 10.0.39052, and boot is OK (thanks for the link)

Hello
I spent two days before I found the cause of my slow network start problem. This is how to temporary fix it:
1) Go start menu in your Windows
2) Type and open: services
3) Find TeamViewer 10
4) Double click TeamViewer 10
5) Change Startup type to: Automatic (Delayed Start)
6) Save changes
7 Restart Windows
This will actually start service 2 minutes after the last service started
If you do not wish automatic updates:
In Team viewer:
1) Click Extras
2) Select options
3) Advance
4) Show advance options
5) No automatic updates
Thanks

Hi,
unfortunately, this solution doesn't start your team viewer right away. You get a delayed start.
The issue isn't there with the older version.
BTW, the disable update is a good idea until the problem is fixed.
Thanks. ;)

Same problem with our systems as well, we do not subscribe to IT Brain but I think it might be part of the problem...

I can confirm the same issue is occurring on 3 Windows 8.1 64-bit PCs.
Started happening a few days ago. I guess when Teamviewer 10 auto-updated.

I just got a reply from support that they are aware of the issue and it is being worked on - no ETA yet but they say the fix will be available as soon as possible.

Are we still waiting on this answer?
