Title: Need help from Teamviewer team to get an IP of Stolen Laptop by ID
Post by: twnyc on April 17, 2017, 01:16:42 PM
Hello,

My computer was stolen and I reported it to the police. I installed a Teamviewer on a new Laptop and I could see an ID of my old laptop and it was online. I obviously do not want to try to connect and scare a person. Looks like they do not leave laptop for a night unattended that I could try to login and cover myself. In other words I do not see a way to get an IP other than asking Teamviewr team to get it for me by ID. I called Teamviewer support phone number and was told to post on Forum and somebody from the support will help.
I really appreciate you help.

Thank you a lot

Hello, I’m testing the 'Computer Reports' option in the web portal but it doesn't look like it shows the IP from which the computer/device connected from so I emailed the TeamViewer support team and I am waiting for a response to see if that is possible.

I'm assuming the Police want the IP so they can determine the persons ISP which then intern they can get the House/Modem the IP is assigned to. You will need the External WAN IP Address from the persons Router but I assume you know that already.

... on a side note, this is not TeamViewers community forum as I was told by TeamViewer Chat so you may want to post your question at hxxps://community.teamviewer.com also
