Teamviewer for Windows / Autostart with Windows then close to systray
« Last post by hendis on June 29, 2022, 05:33:25 PM »
Hi to everybody and thanks to all that can help!

The title says it all. I want to start TV automatically, then minimize it to the systray.

I'm running TV 15.31.5 (32-bit) on a Windows 10 machine. I set up TV to start with windows, and then close to the systray. However, it is not executing as expected (if at all) every time. I have searched the TV Forums, but only found instructions for Win 7. I am running Win 10.

Currently, in TV:
   - In Menu-> Extras-> Options-> General, under "Most popular options", then under "Important options for working with TeamViewer", "Start TeamViewer with Windows" IS checked.
   - In Menu-> Extras-> Options-> Advanced-> Show advanced options, under "Advanced options for working with TeamViewer", then under"General advanced settings", "Close to tray menu" IS checked.

What else do I need to do?

Hi Folks,

When I right-click on the Teamviewer icon in the system tray, Windows notification area, I get a Windows alert sound. This wasn't always the case. How can I get rid of that alert sound?

It makes the default Windows Asterisk event notification sound.

Thanks,
Steven

There have been reports across different media outlets that folks are being timed out of teamviewer connections within 10 seconds to 2 minutes or being accused of commercial use when they are in fact not using the software commercially.

There are several fixes that have worked:
For windows users having the timing out issue the trick that seems to have worked is to download the interviewer APP from the Microsoft Store .
try the Microsoft store
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/teamviewer-remote-control/9wzdncrfj0rh?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
Install then run the app and sign in, all your remote systems will be listed, the GUI is slightly different but it works( or has been working without issue so far).

If that doesn't work you can try to manually change you Teamviewer ID:
https://theitbros.com/reset-teamviewer-id/

A last resolution that has worked for some and is more drastic and (honestly) questionable and a last resort , is to use a piece of software to reset your Team Viewer ID:
This is more of a HACK the requires some navigation through some sites to get the software.
Use this method at your own risk, ONLY YOU are responsible for anything that results in attempting this:
I have used a hack to reset it and seems to work for a week or so.

Read the comments for two other links for how to download and use, it can take a bit.

Teamviewer for Windows / Re: Help --- "Trusted" Device Email not returned to me
« Last post by Coover on September 03, 2020, 12:33:25 PM »
Disregard previous ... all of a sudden eight (yes, 8) "Trust this Device" Emails showed up at once in Outlook. Why this happened, however, is a question I would like to ask either TeamViewer or Gmail?
