Freezing screen after the second connection.
« on: December 13, 2011, 07:10:32 AM »
Me and a friend of me we have a computer as host and we connect both to it.
With the older versions there was no problem.
Now we updated all 3 computers (all windows xp) to version 7.0.12280.
When one of us is connected to the host there is no problem.
When the second connects he can view the desktop but when clicks with the mouse for example to open a file the screen freezes and he can see nothing more.If he disconnects and connects again he can see the file he clicked open.
If he tries to close a window the same thing happens again. The first one who connected has no problem. This happens to the second who connects to the host pc.
Has anyone any idea why is this happening?
Thank you very much.Best wishes.

This has been happening to me as well. I have emailed tech support, and they had be update to the newest client (which seemed to fix it for about 5 minutes), then back to the freezing. I emailed them back stating that I continue to experience the issue and have yet to get a response.

For me, It happens when connecting to my home laptop from XP SP3 / Mac OS 10.6.8 / Windows 7 SP1 clients and connecting from that laptop back out. It doesn't matter whether I'm in a remote location or within the same network, the freezing happens constantly. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 tries of connecting to see the remote desktop, however it shows the 3 or 4 open connections (even though I never saw the screen).

This has only happened since the version 7 upgrade. Maybe I should downgrade to the newest version 6 build until 7 has worked the issues resolved..

it seems that the newest version is creating a lot of issues.  I am still running version 6. mainly because i saw several instances of issues with upgrades.
You may want to uninstall and reinstall and older version of TV until they can get this worked out http://www.oldapps.com/teamviewer.php?old_teamviewer=6528

I've gone back and put v6 on my desktop here at work. I'll "update" my home computers tonight and hopefully get rid of the connection issues (for now).

Thanks for the link!

After I went back to v6, I got an email from technical support about another update for v7 (7.0.12299).

I went and tested a few computers with this version and everything seems to be working better.

I worked for about an hour without it freezing up and making me disconnect and reconnect to continue.

Let's hope that this version finally kills these issues.

I also went back to v.6 but I just found the new version (7.0.12299) in portable so I don't have to install and uninstall all the time..!!
I will check it when we are two guests to the host pc and see if they have solve the problem.
Let's hope it will be ok now...

7.0.12299 worked great, but 7.0.12313 brought back the slow connection issue and now a MAJOR slowdown when connected.

Was there a resolution to this? I am on 7.0.12312 and the freezing is horrendous, happening after a few minutes every single time without fail.

I was forced to upgrade to the same version because of conflict trying to connect with v6 to someone with the newest version, I dont seem to be having the same frequency of issues but still not as stable as earlier versions ive used.
Little disappointing that we've not seen any response from TeamViewer here.  I know the free version is unsupported or at least minimally but it makes it difficult to want to upgrade.

Well,it seems version 7.0.12299 is a bit more stable than the new one.Not perfect like v.6 but better than 7.0.12313 as I read!!
Let's hope someone is working on it and have at last a version without problems...
