black screen on remote client

Team viewer (latest build) on both OSX lion remote and OSX lion local.

When connecting the remote the local screen black. I can also VNC into the remote and see that my actions on the black local in in fact moving the remote cursor...but again nothing is seen on the local system.

What is the concern here?
Is this more Lion BS like that which cripples it now?
