ver 8 swap sides issues

Went to start a remote session last night, and client downloaded MAC ver 8
I couldn't connect with my ver 7 software
(Only a few nights ago the Ver 8 was Beta)

Client tried removing ver 8 and downloading MAC ver 7, but it keep error-ing
Tried to get client to log onto my computer, but session had timed out <Shrug>, even a restart at client end didn't help.

I upgraded to ver 8 (at considerable cost) and connected successfully to client. Both latest versions, client is MAC, mine is windows 7 Ultimate.
Tried to 'swap sides' - failed.
His latest version (MAC) is too old for my latest Windows Version.

ended up using 'meeting' and a phone call, and made stuff work on the fly.

Not very professional, not the image I wanted to portray to my clients.
