Need TeamViewer 8 Linux 256 Color Display
« on: April 30, 2013, 04:19:05 PM »
I'm running 32 bit Debian Squeeze (6.0.7) with TeamViewer 8.0.17147. I'm using an account with several endpoints. I keep the preferences saved for each endpoint in the computers and contact list. My laptop is using 32 bit Windows 7 with TeamViewer 8.0.18051.

When I connect to Linux Teamviewer with auto or high quality settings, my Linux box idles at 35% CPU usage. If I force 256 colors, CPU usage goes down to 11%. See screenshots here:

I'm having trouble forcing TeamViewer to use 256 colors as the quality. I tried setting the preference to "custom" and 256 colors on the Linux endpoint software. Then I set the "custom" setting in my computers and contact list on my Windows 7 laptop. Every connection I make seems to default to high or true color even if during the last connection I forced the quality to 256. I don't see an option in the computers and contact list properties to force a specific custom setting...only just select "custom". Can that be added or is there another fix for my problem?

Fixed the problem. See the Debian forums link.
