Help? One of the computers on our 'team' is never logged on
« on: October 20, 2013, 12:55:44 PM »
We're having a problem with one computer.   We have this on several of our computers and it runs seamlessly.   However, I also have it on my sister's computer so that I can help her with problems.  She's autistic and has various developmental disabilities, and it appears computers are a bit of a mystery to her.  She can use them, but she can get herself into some techno trouble.

For some reason, her computer is never online when I need it to be.  I've checked all settings.  Am I missing something?  It is set to be on when Windows is on,  I believe.

the first thing i would check it to make sure that the computer is not set to sleep or hibernate or turn of hard disk.
usually this setting is in the advanced settings on the screensaver dialog box.
What version of windows?

Windows 7. I'll check those settings the next time I can get in, and will report back. There is no telling what her settings are!

you may want to setup a windows account for her as "standard user"  that way the account she uses does not have administrator privileges and she cant accidentally really mess up windows settings or install something that could do the same( virus/malware etc).
Have a second , administrator level account with a password that just you know present as well.
