Prompting for passwords
« on: January 22, 2014, 06:51:38 PM »
I'm obviously missing a setting, or not understanding something, but for some reason, computers in my "Computers & Contacts" list don't prompt me for passwords when tying to connect (which I would like it to do).

Even after I go to the host computer and change the password for remote access, I then go to the remote computer, select that host computer in the list, and it will open up without it even prompting me to enter the new password.
However, if I select the "Partner ID" on the main Teamviewer window (with the Remote control radio button underneath), it will always prompt me for a password, which is perfect.  This is how it should be in the Computers & Contacts list as well, which it isn't.

I would simply like to know how to get it to prompt me for a password each time I click on a computer for remote access in the "Computer & Contacts" window.

Thanks.

You must have the password saved in the 'properties' of the computer in computers and contacts. If you remove the saved password, you should be asked for a password each time.

Also if you have made a connection to a computer this logo of teamviewer, then you don't need to enter a password again. Make sure that you log out of teamviewer (at the machine local to you) when not using it, or when you want to use the password again.
