Disable "Lock Screen On Disconnect" ?
« on: April 05, 2014, 02:05:49 PM »
I seem to be a contrarian on this issue.

I have a headless IP cam server that I'm constantly connecting to and disconnecting from all day, every day.

Dealing with the Windows Lock screen on every connect is starting to get old.

Is there any way to disable or work around the "Lock Screen On Disconnect" feature?

That may be a setting issue. I have used TeamViewer for years and never had this issue. Depending on whether you are using the paid or free version, the only thing you may see if a Thank You pop up on both the remote and local computers each time you disconnect from the remote computer.

That's encouraging.

Are on Teamviewer v9 and Windows 7?

All of my systems are Windows 7 64-bit with TV7. I've chosen not to upgrade to version 8 or 9 (didn't even know that was available) because TV7 does exactly what I need.

I think that's the answer.

I think "Disable Lock Screen On Disconnect" was introduced in v8 or v9.

A much-requested security feature - which makes sense 99% of the time....

It's just that it's counter-productive in my special situation.

That just seems awfully lazy to me. All one has to do is click Lock Computer from the drop down menu before logging off. I would be in your same boat. There is absolutely no reason to institute an auto-lock feature. Now I am glad I never upgraded.

Wish I could be of more help. If it becomes a major nuisance, you could uninstall and downgrade to TV7 using oldapps.

In the threads I read, people were concerned about anomalous situations like the client being connected/logged on and the client's connection being lost - leaving the PC in question open to whoever was walking by.

I can see it.... just not for my unusual situation.

Yep, this was introduced in ver 8

You can always install and use ver 7, just set it to NOT update automatically

Has anybody done this remotely?

Install on remote PC's,  then install on local PC?

I'm thinking chicken-egg problems with different versions if an install fails partway through the process.
