TeamViewer Cannot Find My Webcams
« on: September 23, 2014, 04:58:07 PM »
I tried for three hours today to get my webcam to show up as a recognized "video source" in Teamviewer. Teamviewer won't recognize any USB camera that I plug in. I tried multiple cameras with different drivers. They all worked-- except in Teamviewer. What's going on? Teamviewer picked up on the built-in microphone and that worked fine, but it kept insisting that I didn't have a camera plugged in.

OS is Windows Vista with all updates current. The camera (not that it seems to matter) is a Logitech V-UBK45. This should be as easy as plug and chug. It's a basic USB camera with the correct drivers installed. Why doesn't TeamViewer see that it's there?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've turned up nothing useful after several hours of internet searching.

Seeing another post on an unrelated problem gave me the idea to try getting rid of TV9 and installing TV8. What do you know ... version 8 recognized the webcams in Vista right away. So it appears to be a bug/regression with version 9. Anybody have other ideas?
