On the latest version 9.0.32494.  I just noticed I'm having a similar problem with my voicechat server so I think this is a Windows 8 issue.  Problem is this is a fresh install of 8.1 with fresh installs of Teamviewer and the voice chat server (Ventrilo).  I changed the network profile to "private" but the issue still occurred overnight.

Ventrilo is a completely different product by a different company. Maybe you have a different issue than me for TeamViewer? With your TeamViewer issue, does it work for days or weeks and then just go offline for no reason? And then never goes back online even with a reboot? And then you have to manually deleted it from the contact list and re-add the computer? If not, then you likely don't have the same issue.

As I mentioned before, I don't see how it has anything to do with Windows 8 or 8.1. I have nearly all Windows 8.1 systems and only 1 of them has this issue. And I have been using Teamviewer since LogMeIn dropped the free product about 9 months ago.

Now if your TeamViewer and Ventrilo have never worked on your specific system, that is a different issue than I am talking about here. And there are many other TeamViewer threads that cover the generic "Offline" issues.

Did you read my first post in the thread?

Pretty close to your issue but only recently happened a few times in the last week so I dont' have weeks / months of data.   I did a fresh install of Win 8.1 3+ weeks ago and never had the issue with Windows 7 (since the logmein switch as well).  The reason I mentioned Ventrilo is because last night I noticed the server, while stating it was up and running, was not accessible from another computer on the LAN. Teamviewer had the same issue at the same time requiring that I delete it and re-add it.  It has been working since the re-add.

The fact that on my system that two separate pieces of software were experiencing a very similar issue makes me think the problem lies in a Windows 8.1 setting.  I'm messing with the power settings profiles now.  I wouldn't be so quick to eliminate 8.1 as the problem unless your computers are all setup and configured identically.

"I am having the exact same problem.  I updated to from Windows 7 to 8.1 3 weeks ago and everything was working fine until this week.  Due to this problem I had to re-added my home computer this morning and it just went offline 30 minutes ago.  If I check teamviewer on the home computer it can see other computers and everything looks OK."

That is your first post. Yes, I read it. I asked because I the first post and other posts combined sounded like there my be some confusion. While you didn't have the issue on Windows 7 and maybe it never will happen on Windows 7. But there are a ton of people using Windows 8 and 8.1 without this issue. Including most of my own systems. I only have 1 system with this issue.

I wish I had some ideas though. For me the main difference between my Windows 8.1 system affected, and the 6+ other Windows 8.1 systems that are not; is that this one is on a Domain at work. The others are not joined to a domain.

I also do not understand why Teamviewer goes "Offline" when the internet and all other network services are fine on my system. If you solve your Ventrilo issue, it would be interesting to see if that has any affect on this Teamviewer issue.

I noticed the default power profile was putting the HD and network adapters in a lower power state / sleep so I changed that.   The whole reporting "online" on the problem computer while being "offline" on the other computers doesn't make much sense to me either.

For what it is worth my Win 7 work computer is on a domain without problems.

Can you explain further? I have not had this symptom. When my system goes offline, it is listed as offline both locally and remotely.

I will check my other systems, but for now on my system with the issue I have changed PCI Express->Link State Management to OFF.

The local computer thinks it is online and OK but the other computers see it as offline.  My mistake, I was going back and forth between 2 threads and thought that you had mentioned the same symptom.

The only way to get it be be "Online" again and remotely accessible is to delete and re-add it.

I will take a screenshot the next time it happens to me. I am wondering if there is still some confusion. The area I am looking when I say it shows as offline on both sides for me; is the right panel window labeled "Computers & Contacts" on the affected system. Under "My computers" it will show the system as offline. And on other systems or the login webpage, it will also show this affected system as offline. Yet I think it doesn't mention offline on the affected system TeamViewer Tray icon. But I will have to confirm that the next time it happens to me and take some screenshots.
