Desperately need help with remote printing
« on: November 18, 2014, 07:05:56 AM »
I've just installed tv9 on my work and home pc's last night.  I'm going to be out of work for a bit for health reasons, so I need to get this working quickly.  From home I can control my work computer & can print to any of the work printers.  I cannot get it to print at home.  I followed the manual and enabled remote printing & even see my home printer on the list.  When I try to print nothing happens.  I searched the forum and saw where someone turned off UPD but it didn't help me at all.  I also saw a suggestion to download a universal print driver. I went here: http://h20331.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/cache/344305-0-0-225-121.html & I see my printer (Officejet 4500 series)as being supported for that, but when I click download software from the top of the page it takes me to another page that says: "This operation requires that you select a valid HP product.  Please go to HP Support Center Home to choose your HP product."  When I go to a support page for my printer the only download option is a full software/driver package.  I don't mind downloading it if I need to, but on which computer do I even need the driver installed on?  I can email most files to myself at home to print on my home pc, but it doesn't solve the problem of needing to print checks on the work accounting program & I am fairly certain I can't email those!  I need to be able to visually see that they print & not trust them to be sitting on my work printer the next time I'm driven to the office to play catch up.   Please help!!!!

I have just installed TV10, and am very happy with most of the remote accessibility, but I don't seem to be able to print a file from the remote computer on my local printer.
I am able to print on the remote printer, which is attached to the remote computer, but really need to be able to pick up the file to print on my local printer, as it is a fair distance away from my desktop.
Can anyone help with this please, as I really cannot go back home every time I need a hard copy.
I'm sure there must be a very simple solution, but I can't see it!
