How to access newer TV versions with older ones
« on: December 06, 2015, 06:20:40 PM »
Hi all,

I use TV both professionally (our company has V9 licensed) & personally (I have V10 on several PCs + Android).

The problem I've hit is that in order to access my home PC from work (at lunch say, for non-work-related, purely personal reasons), I'm trying to use V9 to access V10, which not being forward compatible, I can't off course. That's fine, I can just fire up V10 in Run Only/Personal mode. Or so I thought. It seem that the work laptop has picked up the V9 license, so has reverted the V10 client to Trial mode, which is about to expire. I have uninstalled V9, no luck, same warning. I have 1 day left of the 'trial'.

Does anyone know if there is a simple way around this, other than reverting all my other PCs to the older V9? Why is TV insisting on checking licensing/trials for what should be a completely free/personal version of the client...? Is there a way to delete/backout the license for V10 only?
I was hoping to try the new V11 but am now in limbo & as I make the decisions at work whether we pay for the upgrade or not, well, you know where I'm going with this... ;)

Unfortunately no

I have one machine for my 'licenced version' and install a 'latest version' on a completely separate  machine.
Far from Ideal.
