teamviewer and vpn

i am going on vacation from usa to mediterranean and will have laptop running win7 pro 64 bit communicating with home running same.  do i need to subscribe to a paid vpn for secure connection?  if so, how do i set it up? thanks

All teamviewer connections are encrypted

Do you need a VPN?

Once you start a connection, on the connection toolbar (top of screen) select Extras >> VPN

i didn't know that teamviewer was encrypted.  looks like i don't need a vpn. thanks!
