TeamViewer unreliable after upgrade to v11
« on: January 26, 2016, 06:43:48 PM »
I have used TeamViewer for several years to remotely manage a group of computers, server and PCs. There was hardly a time that I had a problem. Then I started using v10 and began to notice I had problems connecting that I'd not seen before. They didn't happen very often so it wasn't that big of a deal. Then came v11 and since then I've had nothing but problems. Most of the time I can't connect to the same computers that I've connected to remotely for years using TeamViewer.

When I double click on the computer in the Partner list the Connection window opens and says "Initiating session" for several seconds and then it says "Connection lost, reconnecting..." and then finally closes. Sometimes it doesn't even get that far but just says "Connecting..." on the main TeamViewer window.

I tried rolling back to v10 by uninstalling v11 and installing v10 but that didn't change a thing. I could still hardly ever connect so I put v11 back on everywhere I had rolled back to v10. The PCs run Windows 7 SP1 and the servers run 2008 and 2012 R2.

I know nothing has changed on the remote network because I'm the one who manages it. So I'm sure the problem is not with the network/internet itself but with TeamViewer. I'd be happy to keep using it if it would work, and though I'd rather keep using it but I may need to start looking for something else as I need to be able to reliably connect to this remote network.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on and how to fix it?
