Clear clipboard on disconnect?
« on: March 31, 2016, 07:52:23 PM »
I use clipboard sync regularly, but if I don't manually clear the clipboard before I disconnect from a session the contents can end up in another session to a different host - depending on what is in the clipboard, this can be a security/privacy problem waiting to happen.

Is there any way to automatically clear the host's clipboard when a session ends? I use v11 to connect to hosts varying from v8-v11.

There is a setting in advanced >> advanced settings for connections to other computers called 'clipboard synchronisation'

I think that you can turn this off, and still copy and paste between connected machines (but I'm not certain of that)

Did you know that if 2 users are both connected via teamviewer, that if one user copies something to the clipboard, the other user can paste that locally to say 'notepad', completely unbeknown to the first user, or to anyone watching that machine being controlled

Thanks Matt. I haven't tried turning off clipboard sync because I just assumed it would stop me copying stuff from my PC to the host and vice versa.

I like your point about clipboard behaviour with 2 remote connections - similarly, I have regular issues when I log in and a particularly careless colleague was the last person connected. Now when I connect to a host the first thing I do is open notepad and hit paste - that can be interesting... Obviously I clear the clipboard straight away but who knows how long the info has been there and if it's been seen by anyone else. Unfortunately that colleague pays my wages and thinks I'm just captain @nal
