Start TV on remote PC without monitor
« on: March 04, 2016, 04:44:14 AM »
This is not quite what the FAQ "installation on headless computers" is about. I have in my living room a PC with projector. As typing on the sofa is uncomfortable, I'd like to access this computer from my work PC (same network, other room). I can start TV on the living room PC and connect to it from my work PC. The thing is that I don't like powering up the projector - lamp life suffers with frequent lamp starts and it takes some time to warm up and cool down. So ideally, I'd be able to connect to this PC without seeing its display. Maybe I could assign a hotkey on the logitech keyboard with Teamviewer so I could start it blindly by just hitting that key (or even using the windows key and typing "teamviewer" + enter). But then I'd still need to see the ID displayed by Teamviewer.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Set up unattended access on the living room computer

If it is turned on, Teamviewer will be running, irrespective of the projector being on or not.

You may not even need unattended access, Teamviewer IDs don't change - they are hardware specific, just set a saved password and you should be good to go
