VLC : No video images (black screen)
« on: August 07, 2011, 05:52:57 AM »
Hi everyone,
Teamviewer is a great software THANKS!

PROBLEM:
When running (command send to the remote pc) vlc on a video file ( avi or else) ,   I canot see the video stream ( no images ...just black screen...) on the main pc.  ( but the video/images are ok when watch direclty on the screen of the remote pc )

Note: this problem is coming from the remote pc ( because I am able to see the video on one other remote pc from another friend) with same configuration on the main pc. So, it does not come from the main pc.

Any ideas ?  tks.

Note: maybe this problem could come because I have no video cam on the remote pc ?  In option menu, video ... there is NOTHING installed...

Hello francois,
you have to deactivate accelerated video output in the preferences of your VLC player. You will find them under preferences in the video tab.
Regards

I was brought here by Google and I thought I might revive an old thread for future users.

Make sure the target computer has its screen turned on!

I would run into this problem, remotely restart the computer and nothing would change. I would then remotely shutdown the computer and contact a colleague in the office to turn it back on for me. But they would also turn on the screen to see what they were doing! I have come to the conclusion that the screen should be turned on to view the videos (and google chrome too :o)
