TV is warning me wrongly that the antivirus on the remote (host) computer is out of date.   I checked, and it's totally up to date.

The remote computer is a Dell Optiplex 7010 with 16GB RAM running Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit.  Its antivirus is Avast Free version 10.4.2233 and is totally up to date - both program and definitions.  And I rebooted that one twice.  And its "Action center" does NOT indicate any problem with antivirus.

My client computer is a Dell Optiplex 7010 with 4GB RAM running Win 7 Pro 32-bit.

So what's the problem?

Same issue here.
Remote PC running Win10, AV is Norton Security Suite v22.7, also running Malwarebytes Home Premium v2.2.1.1043.
I confirmed Windows reports Windows Defender is turned off.

But TeamViewer still flags this PC as having out-of-date AV.
