Laptop Lid Closed Issue - TeamViewer
« on: November 03, 2016, 02:23:16 PM »
-I have a Lenovo Y510P laptop with an Intel HD 4600 UMA graphics card (the dedicated GeForce GT755M is disabled from BIOS).
-I have the same problem of not being able to use TeamViewer from machine 1 (W10) to the Y510P machine (W8.1) when the lid is closed.
-I either get a blank black screen, either a frozen screen if I open and close the lid (the picture in TeamViewer on machine 1 remains the one of the Y510P with the lid open right before closing it).
-Strangely, machine 1 (that is also a Lenovo laptop but with only a discrete GeForce G210M graphics card), is not affected as such and I can freely manage it with TeamViewer with the lid closed or open. Both machines have the same display settings.
-I have no errors and no flickering on machine 1 connected to the Y510P, just a frozen picture of the Y510P.
-I have checked the TeamViewer logs at "C:\Program Files (x86)\TeamViewer\TeamViewer11_Logfile.log", and cannot see any errors either.
-When I connect from machine 1 to the Y510P, I can see "Initializing display parameters" OK on the logging dialog.
-I have tried the fix with the "DisableDuplicationAPI DWORD sub key to the base Teamviewer key" available at "http://windowsten.info/forum/compatibility/software-compatibility/304-teamviewer", restarted the computer but this didn't work, same behaviour.
-I have the same TeamViewer_v11.0.66695 kit installed on both machines.
-While connected to the Y510P with the lid open and with TeamViewer, if I go to "Display Settings" and click detect, I do get a second RDPUDD Intel 4600 virtual screen identified but closing the lid has the same effect on machine 1, frozen screen for the Y510P.
-If I use Remote Desktop Protocol (RDC) connection to get to the Y510P (lid closed), there is no problem.
-Installing another OS on the Y510P (e.g. W7, W10, etc) and see if the same issue is present, it is no option in my case.
-I have tried reinstalling the Intel HD 4600 graphics driver and doing some other small checks, but no joy.

--If anyone has any suggestions\tips\tricks\ideas, any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.
