Teamviewer and proxy (glype)
« on: August 11, 2011, 09:13:34 AM »
Hi all.

I would like to ask a question which i didn't manage to answer by reading the manual and searching around.

The question is:

Is it possible to use teamviewer to remote desktop my pc through a proxy (glype proxy) which i have installed in my web space?

Thank you for your time reading this and if someone knows a hint please assist.

Regards,
The_Observer.

Hi,
yes it is possible to remote control a PC through a proxy. That is what we made TeamViewer for. Do you have any problems? Did you ever try to connect through your proxy?

Teamviewer online (through https://login.teamviewer.com) doesn't work with Glype, as far as I can see. You get the login screen, but after you login, you'll just see the teamviewer logo and that's it.

I don't know how this can be fixed. The problem is, it is not a real proxy, it is Glype, which only proxies the web page you're on and tries it's best to also proxy any other requests coming from it, but it is not a "full" proxy that catches any outgoing request. I.e., you cannot use Glype in a way that you set your proxy settings in your browser. Instead, you browse to Glype and it will proxy your current page.

I would like to help resolve this, if TeamViewer wants, they can contact me. I have Glype setup and I can run some tests.
