Cursor doesn't align on iPad to Windows
« on: April 14, 2013, 03:18:02 AM »
I have installed TV8 on three Windows PCs and I'm using one of two iPads to control them. However, when I touch the iPad screen the remote cursor ends up just south-east of where my finger is on the iPad(s)

It makes it difficult to see where the cursor is (it is blocked by my finger). It isn't helped by the fact that the remote cursor on the iPad sometimes appears as a 32px by 32px block of "noise" as though TV is picking up a random area of memory for the cursor image.

The cursor offset is a real nuisance, and I can't help feeling that there must be something in the configuration to adjust/align it, but I can't see one (other applications on the iPad itself are perfect when it comes to finger/cursor alignment)

With the ipad version, (you can change the settings) the default is that finger swipes move the cursor, not place it where you tap.

Once you get used to this it is quite good. It allows you to minutely control the cursor. A double tap is left click on what the cursor is currently over.
I didn't find it intuitive either, but I find default is best once you get used to how it works.

Thanks, Matt - I'd much prefer to use the new "direct touch" option as it is much more suited to my purposes, but this offset makes it almost impossible.
