Debian Wheezy, no GUI, unable to get user ID
« on: September 24, 2013, 02:27:05 AM »
Hi All! I have installed the newest version of TV that is 8.0.20931 , but when running TV doesn't have a user ID... here are the outputs

# teamviewer --info
Code: [Select]
TeamViewer                     8.0.20931
teamviewered status          /opt/teamviewer8/tv_bin/teamviewerd
teamviewered start/running
Teamviewer ID:  Not found
Try restarting TeamViewer daemon (e.g. teamviewer --daemon restart )

# uname -a
Code: [Select]
Linux Wojtek 3.2.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.2.46-1+deb7u1 x86_64 GNU/Linux

After restart of daemon and box reboot nothing changes. Is there a way to fix it or work around it to connect from remote destinations?
There is a gateway/firewall router between this Linux server and internet.

Help???

I'm going to guess that this machine can't reach the teamviewer servers.

Try sniffing for what port is used, and allowing that outbound

Here is a reply i received to my email query from TV Support team member:
Quote
TeamViewer doesn't support NO GUI Linux OS, it needs a interface to display the TeamViewer ID and password.
If you would like to use TeamViewer, Please try other operating system.
