Problems with connecting
« on: September 27, 2013, 03:51:33 AM »
I see one of our clients server in the list of available computers with green dot next to it yet when I try to connect teamviewer just says "connecting" and never actually connects. I checked that the service is running on the server and all looks good. No firewall. Any ideas.

Occasionally its a blip in the TV servers that prevent connections, and it works itself out.
try to connect to the server form a different machine.
reboot the server, and perhaps reinstall/ update to the latest version of teamviewer on all machines.

Hello,

Similar problem here, probably just with the latest TV version (till that one, no remote connection problems I faced)... On one of my PC's (at work) I'm using Windows login (password) to access it and previous TV versions (before 8.0.20935) successfully accessed the Windows login page (the blue one)... However, with the latest TV version (8.0.20935) I can see my work's PC as online (even it is loged off), but when I try to remotely access it, TV stucks at the "Connecting" status at the bottom of the UI and nothing happens (no access to the Windows login page)... If the work's PC is loged on, then TV can access it remotely with no problems... More interestingly, If I restart the work's PC, it will be again at the Windows login page and then I can access it remotely without problems... If I then click log off on the work's PC and break the TV remote connection, and try to connect again, the same problem happens... I really don't understand why this happens, but in my opinion it looks like a bug and I hope it'll be solved as soon as possible...

Thanks,
Nikola

I am having the same issue, however a simple restart does nothing. I cannot connect to this computer from ANY other device period and this just started happening. I think TeamViewer may have blocked my computer, how do I fix this?

wht do you think teamviewer blocked your computer?
Use the link in my signature to send in a support ticket directly to TV, then respond back with any resolution that other may be able to use.

I put a ticket in 2 days ago. No response yet. I will post their response when I receive one. I think they blocked my computer because they have done this before, but I got a message before that it was blocked. I use TeamViewer a lot from my desktop, so they blocked it saying too much use, buy a license. After I spoke to a representative in chat, they unlocked it, all was good.

The other reason I think they blocked it, is because it has worked for YEARS without incident, then all of a sudden I cannot connect to it. No changes have been made, so there is no reason that it shouldn't work.

thats very interesting, ive not heard of them blocking a machine using it to much.  When you say you use it "alot" , can you define that in hours per day?

It's not necessarily hours per day, it is just using the same machine to connect to multiple different machines throughout the month I believe. That is not a 100% certain statement. I believe last time, they said there were too many connections and I had to buy a commercial license if I was a company, but I am not, so they let me keep the personal license. I just have a lot of relatives that need help all the time.

I have tried the following:

Restarting machine - didn't work
Reinstalling TeamViewer 8 - didn't work
Installing Beta TeamViewer 9 - didn't work
Uninstalled every TeamViewer, went through registry and deleted everything associated with TeamViewer, deleted all the folders and files from TeamViewer and installing TeamViewer 8, then Beta 9 again - didn't work

ah i see, i do the same thing but maybe not on your level, i have not been blocked.
then perhaps the system is automated to recognize connections limits and autoblocks it, a call may be in order to get it unlocked.
