Connecting before Windows Logon
« on: October 22, 2013, 12:09:45 AM »
I've set up Teamviewer 8 as a service and I know I've done this correctly because I stay connected when switching users, successful logging in again. However, initally I cannot connect remotely until AFTER I have logged into Windows the FIRST time.

What am I doing wrong? I'm using Windows 7 Pro on the client and Windows 7 Home Premium on the host.

Also, note that the host is hard-wired to the router, so the issue isn't about needing to make a wireless connection prior to login.

Did you install the teamviewer full version or the host version?

I was using full. Uninstalled and then installed host instead.
At first, it seemed like the problem remained but I was impatient and after waiting and trying a couple of times, the host came alive and I was able to connect to it at the login screen. So maybe I just wasn't waiting long enough for the service to kick in on the host. It seems to take about 30 seconds for that.
Anyway, problem solved now using the host version, so thanks for the suggestion.
