TV 8 says I'm already connected
« on: April 16, 2014, 02:12:17 PM »
With TeamViewer 8 (OS X 10.9.2), suddenly I can't connect with someone else who has my same setup. When I enter the partner password, I get a message saying I am already connected, but otherwise the screen doesn't change.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,

David

Don't log in at both ends

Only log in at the end that you want to connect FROM

Thank you for your reply, but in the past we have always both opened TV. I then click "Connect to partner," enter the partner password and I can see the other person's screen. Now, however, after I enter the password, I am still in TV but can't see the partner's screen. Or, if I try to connect again, I get a message saying I am already connected. In either case I can't see the other screen.

In rereading your message, I think I misinterpreted it in my first reply. What I should have said was, yes--I do only log in at only one end, i.e., the one I want to connect from.

In case it helps someone else, the quick and easy solution was just to uninstall TeamViewer 8 (using the TV uninstaller) and install TeamViewer 9. I would have done this in the first place but I had seen several messages here and elsewhere saying that upgrading to 9 didn't make any difference, that uninstalling was complicated, not to use the TV uninstaller, etc.
