Suddenly experiencing DEP
« on: February 04, 2015, 03:51:43 PM »
Hello,

We have some machines with XP on them still that had working versions of TV10 for a while now. Suddenly, two of the machines cannot successfully run TV, even the older versions. We have licensed copies and support's suggestion was to disable DEP on TV. That didn't help. The program starts with windows properly but a few seconds after login the DEP error window comes up. Restarting the program just flashes on the screen then exits.

I'm hoping someone can offer some suggestions for a fix.

Experiencing this same exact problem for the last few days. It's quite frustrating that I this isn't working.

Support told me they forwarded the logs to the developers so I guess it's just a waiting game. I like the program very much but the new stuff they've been adding to it must be affecting the old XPs. I can't nail down what it is yet because I have some other XP machines that are working just fine with it.

I was experiencing the same DEP problem.  I had used TV10 the previous week without any problems.  The next week as soon as I tried entering the password the DEP error would appear.  I tried DEP with just windows programs, and with excluding TV and explorer.exe.  Nothing seemed to help.  Finally I decided to reinstall TV10.  I kept my settings in the hope that  I wouldn't have to redo all my connections.  After the reinstall all my connections, passwords etc were still there and the program is working just fine.  When I did this my DEP was set to exclude TV10 and Windows Explorer.  I'm not sure if the DEP setting made any difference, it's just what I had set when I did the reinstall.  Hope this helps someone else.
