Display resolution changes randomly
« on: July 29, 2014, 07:31:40 AM »
Hi,

we are using TeamViewer 7 to connect to some of our customers standard Windows 7 PC which are running with a FullHD display at 1920x1080 px.
After connecting to the PC the resolution of it changes randomly to a lower resolution like 1280x1014 which causes the display to show the content not in full screen. We always have to restart the customers PC after every TeamViewer session as a workaround.

Does someone know why the PCs resolution is changing and what to do against it?

Thanks in advance.

matt

I've not seen this
Do you have these computers in 'Computers and contacts'?
What are the resolution settings under properties?

They are in 'Computers and contacts' (synchronyzed from TeamViewer Manager by the way) and all display settings (including resolution) are '(inherited)'. (Actually as I am using the german version of TeamViewer I am not quite sure if the word 'inherited' is used in the english version, but it means, that the settings are inherited from some global settings.)
But I don't know where they are inherited from. The only settings concerning display are in TeamViewer -> Options -> Remote control -> Quality which give me the options 'automatic', 'optimize quality', 'optimize speed' and 'custom setting'. I cannot find a way to globally define the resolution setting as 'don't change' what would probably be the best.

Maybe it helps if I change the resolution setting under properties of the 'Computers and contacts' to 'don't change', but I would have to do that for every of my 100 entries in that list. And all my colleagues would have to do the same. Is there maybe any chance to define that as a global setting for all existing and new entries?

In the meantime I've found the possibility to define these settings for a group in my 'Computers and contacts' list, but still I have quite a lot groups and I will add new groups where I have to remember to make correct settings again and again.
Therefore it would be great to have an opportunity to define it really globally at one point for all existing contacts and those to come.
