I am very new to TeamViewer but have used GoToAssist and LogMeIn in the past.
I am trying to help my mother with her computer issues via TeamViewer but I'm having trouble with some things. One problem that is especially exasperating is that the options to view one window or to view her whole desktop doesn't always seem to work. For instance, on a recent session, I was seeing her Skype window and it was ALL I could see. I had previously seen the options for viewing one window or viewing the whole desktop and made sure that "view whole desktop" was checked and "view one window" was unchecked but still I was only seeing the Skype window. I needed to get to her Control Panel and had a heck of a time. I think I finally got there by having her click the Windows button (we are both running Windows 8.1 on notebooks) until the desktop appeared but I've already forgotten for sure. Is there some reason the checking of the "one window" and "whole desktop" options doesn't work by itself? Is there some trick to make them work or are they more in the nature of "suggestions" than "rules", to borrow from Pirates of the Caribbean?
