Unable to upgrade to v10
« on: April 24, 2015, 09:48:48 AM »
I have Team Viewer (free license) installed for unattended access on at least seven different computers. They all run Windows 7 or 8 64bit.
All of my computers have happily upgraded to TV v10, except one. The computer I sit at the most (Windows 7 64 bit), and use to access all the other computers, will not upgrade to v10. When I click the arrow to check for updates I get a message that says "An error occurred while updating Team Viewer. Please check log file for more information."
This is what the log file shows:
2015/04/24 11:01:04.789 10108  9508 G1   TVUpdate::Start(1) called

2015/04/24 11:01:17.973 10108  6120 G1   ProxySearch: no PAC script detected via WPAD

I see the error code "12150" and have searched on Team Viewer support, and the forums here, but I have not found anything relating to that error code. So, I have tried a few standard things. I have gone to the TV site and directly downloaded v10. The download happens fine, but the install will not run at all. I uninstalled TV completely, rebooted my machine, and downloaded v10 again, but the install still would not run. I shut off all firewalls and anti-virus, rebooted and tried again. Still the install would not run. I am able to uninstall and reinstall v9 as many times as I please, but I cannot access the other computers until I get this one upgraded to v10. So, I was hoping one of you super smart peoples could help me out, please.

Open your explorer and type in "%TEMP%\TeamViewer" into the address bar (without the ""). Can you access that? If so there should be a TV10Install.log file that may have more info on what's going wrong. If you can't access the folder or the file is missing, check the permissions for it and for %TEMP%.

not sure if this was answered somewhere else, but came across as 1st result for the issue and got mine working, so looking out. and all i did was turn my vpn off to download, i assume a proxy would have the same affect. I am not sure what is technicality causing it, but if you have a vpn or proxy try and download with it off.
