strange problem- please help! Need advice!
« on: April 17, 2016, 07:26:28 PM »
Okay, here's the situation. I have several computers added to my account, mostly family. I do have one friend's computer added to my account as well to help her when needed. Problem is she just died and now my account is on her computer (just a 'host' I think it was called-access to her computer only without outgoing support to help others). Anyways, I don't know for sure who will get the computer now- her sister likely inherited everything? Question is, should I worry? She will likely just auction everything off so who knows who will get her computer with my account info on it. I'm thinking not only is my email address on there but I'd imagine my password as well since it was required to install TV on it; likely encrypted but there's always somebody that can break any kind of protection given the desire!
So, should I change my account password? Which would render my access to the other computers in my account null and void, correct? I'd have to go to the computer locations and change the password manually which brings about another whole problem scenario...
The computer has been offline ever since so remotely changing it is not an option, not to mention I'd likely get cussed out from somebody that doesn't know me seeing me take over the computer! Eek!
Or, should I not even worry about it?
I'm going to try to win the computer if I notice the auction ad but somebody will likely outbid me. LOL It's a pretty nice computer....
Advice please?

they will not be able to reverse connect to your machine without the unique ID and password of your machine.
You set it up so you could help her, not so she could access and help you.
Dont sweat it, if you ever see it come online, log on and uninstall teamviewer and reboot if iyt makes you nervous.

I wasn't so worried about my computer as such  :) but somebody extracting my email and password from that computer and thereby using my login info  >:( to access my other computers I'm registered to access (my families I help).  :o

Your username and password IS NOT REQUIRED to install Teamviewer

If you used your username / email address and a password on that machine to log into YOUR account (computers and contacts list) then YES, this is likely to be there.
You should contact the family and offer to wipe the HDD before the computer is sold / given away.

You should also remove this device from your list of computers and contacts and change ALL of your passwords, especially the password to access the computers and contacts.

I see heaps of people here 'logging in' on multiple computers and for the life of me I can't understand why (unless they are refugees from LogMEIN where you had to do that). With Teamviewer you should ONLY ever 'log in' to your Teamviewer account on the computer that you are physically sitting in front of. No others.
